The administration of Begum Rokeya University (BRUR) in Rangpur has formed a three-member investigation committee over the alleged assault of an official in the vice-chancellor’s office.

The committee was formed on Thursday (5 November) afternoon through an office order signed by the university’s registrar (additional charge), Professor Dr Md Ferdous Rahman.

The office order said the committee had been formed for fact-finding — to uncover the true facts of the untoward incident that took place in the vice-chancellor’s office on 4 November.

The committee has been asked to submit its report within the next seven working days.

The committee’s convener, Masud Rana, said: “We will sit as a committee on Sunday (8 November). Then we will decide our course of action.”
