Russell Brand found guilty of rape and sexual assault in London, to be sentenced on Monday

A London jury has found actor and comedian Russell Brand guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault. The verdict was delivered on Thursday.

Brand, 51, faced a total of seven charges concerning six women. He had pleaded not guilty to three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one count of attempted indecent assault.

The charges dated from 1999 to 2009 and concerned six women. They are all entitled to lifelong anonymity.

After the guilty verdicts, Brand was remanded in custody. He will be sentenced on Monday.
