Young Man Stabbed to Death at Home in Dhaka's Shantibag, Younger Brother Accused

A young man named Saiful Islam, also known as Saif (23), has allegedly been stabbed to death by his younger brother at their own home in Shantibag in the capital. The incident took place on Thursday evening.

Police and the deceased Saiful's family sources said Saiful lived with his family in Shantibag. He worked as a contractor.

Saiful's uncle Md Roni said Saiful had an argument with his teenage younger brother over a matter in the evening. Their father Sirajul Islam was on the roof at the time. Hearing shouting, he came into a room of the home and found Saif lying on the floor. There was a stab wound on his chest.

Saiful was taken in a bloodied state to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 6:45pm, where the duty doctor declared him dead.

Inspector Habib Rahman, in charge of the Dhaka Medical police outpost, said the body has been kept in the hospital morgue. The matter has been reported to Shahjahanpur Police Station.
