Villagers Block Social Welfare Minister's Convoy in Birampur Demanding Faster Road Work

Villagers blocked the convoy of Social Welfare Minister Dr A Z M Zahid Hossain at the Birampur upazila premises in Dinajpur. They staged the protest demanding that road work be completed quickly.

On Thursday (5 November) at around 4pm, villagers from the Charkai area of Birampur municipality handed a memorandum to the minister demanding speedy completion of the road work. Accepting the memorandum, the minister assured them he would look into the matter seriously.

However, in the evening, after inaugurating Notun Kuri Sports 2026-2027 (Season-2) and exchanging greetings with players, the minister faced protests again while leaving the upazila premises.

Villagers taking part in a human chain in front of the upazila gate blocked the road and stopped the minister's convoy. A somewhat tense situation arose there at the time.

Later, the situation came under control with the administration's intervention, and the minister's convoy left for its destination.

The villagers' programme demanding speedy completion of the road work in the Charkai area has created discussion locally.
