Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has said the government is working with various initiatives to recover from a fragile economy and reduce the suffering of ordinary people. He made the remarks while talking to journalists after the inaugural ceremony of the 'Third Regional Cub Camporee 2026' at the Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School field at 11am on Friday (6 November).

Asked about the government's initiatives to control prices, Asadul Habib Dulu said, 'We took responsibility in a fragile economy. Under the leadership of the prime minister, we are working at various levels to reduce people's hardship. The family card and the farmer card are being given so that people's capacity increases. Alongside that, we want to create employment by creating entrepreneurs. This will increase people's income.'

Highlighting the importance of scouting, the minister said that if children grow up within discipline from childhood, their lives will be beautiful and they will be able to protect themselves from various irregularities and discrimination in society.

He said a large part of the young generation is currently getting involved in addiction to drugs and casinos. Scouting can play an important role in keeping the new generation away from these, he said.

The minister also spoke of a plan to use scout members in disaster management. He said importance will be given to how they can help people during disasters and play a role in creating awareness.

About 1,200 young scouts from various educational institutions are taking part in the camporee, held under the theme 'Blue sky, green forest — let us build life through scouting'. Various educational, creative and joyful arrangements have been kept in the camporee to build children's physical and mental development as well as leadership, discipline, self-reliance and humane values.

Special guests at the event included Mirza Faisal Amin, member of parliament for Thakurgaon-1, Dr Md Abdus Salam, member of parliament for Thakurgaon-2, and Md Jahidur Rahman, member of parliament for Thakurgaon-3.

Also present were the president's private secretary Md Abu Auwal, secretary of the Dinajpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Professor Nur Md Abdur Razzak, Thakurgaon deputy commissioner Md Rafiqul Haque and additional superintendent of police Md Khodadas Hossain.

The organisers hope that through this event the children will, alongside their studies, acquire various real-life skills and grow up in the future as responsible, humane and patriotic citizens.
