Savar Press Club president Nazmul Huda confirmed the death on Friday evening (November 6).

According to people close to him, Nadim Hasan was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar with dengue on November 4. His condition deteriorated on Thursday night while under treatment, and he was moved to the intensive care unit (ICU).

Doctors declared him dead at around 4:30pm on Friday while he was being treated in the ICU.

"He was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar with dengue three days ago. He died this afternoon while under treatment," Nazmul Huda said.

For more than a decade, Nadim Hasan worked as the Savar correspondent for Mohona Television, Bangla Mail 24, Bangla Tribune and Dhaka Tribune. He was the elected joint general secretary of the Savar Press Club.

He lived with his parents, and leaves behind his parents, two sisters and many well-wishers.

"Nadim Hasan was a young and promising journalist with strong organisational ability. His death is an irreparable loss for journalism in Savar. We express our grief and condolences to his family," Nazmul Huda said.
