More than 3,200 migrants rescued off Canary Islands in first six days of November

Migrants have arrived in Spain's Canary Islands after being rescued at sea. More than 3,200 migrants were rescued in the archipelago in the first six days of November alone.

The migrants were crossing the Atlantic from West Africa towards the Canary Islands. The sea route is known as one of the world's deadliest migration routes.

The arrival of so many migrants at once has put pressure on the islands' reception and emergency services.
