Actors' Guild suspends Tanjin Tisha's membership indefinitely
The television actors' professional body, the Actors' Guild Bangladesh, has suspended actress Tanjin Tisha's membership indefinitely.
The organisation formally informed the actress of the disciplinary decision through an official letter.
The guild made the matter public on Friday night by publishing the letter on its official Facebook page.
The official order sent to Tisha is dated 4 October. It was jointly signed by the organisation's general secretary, Rashed Mamun Apu, and its organisational secretary, Masud Rana Mithu.
According to the letter, the authorities had sent a show-cause notice to Tanjin Tisha's address on 7 July, asking for an explanation on the matter of suspending her membership.
However, even after the deadline mentioned in the notice had passed, the actress did not submit any written reply or statement to the organisation's office.
With no initiative taken to defend herself, the matter was then reviewed at the organisation's internal arbitration and dispute-resolution meeting.
On the recommendation of that meeting, the executive council discussed the matter at its regular meeting and unanimously approved the final decision to suspend Tisha's membership indefinitely.
The organisation then informed her of the decision through a formal letter.
