On Revolution and Solidarity Day, PM attends Army Stadium ceremony with 3,000 cadets on display

Prime Minister Tareque Rahman joined a special exhibition at the Army Stadium in Banani, Dhaka, on the occasion of the historic 7 November National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
The exhibition, organised today, Saturday, under the direction of the Ministry of Defence and the supervision of the armed forces, features 3,000 cadets of the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) and 500 members of Bangladesh Scouts.
The disciplined performances and parade of the cadets and scouts have made the ceremony more vibrant, and their participation in the special exhibition has become one of its main attractions.
Also present at the ceremony are the army chief, the air force chief, members of the cabinet, members of parliament, senior government officials, and diplomats and ambassadors of various countries.
Earlier in the morning, the prime minister paid respects and offered prayers at the graves of former president and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
Central party leaders, led by Tareque Rahman, took part in visiting the graves of Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital.
Meanwhile, the BNP has organised a colourful procession in the capital on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day. BNP Chairman Tareque Rahman will take part on foot in the procession, which is scheduled to start at 3pm from in front of the party's central office at Nayapaltan.
Recalling the significance of 7 November, it was noted that the war of 1971 was for achieving independence, while the mass uprising of 2024 was for protecting the independence of the country and its people.
The core aspiration of 7 November 1975, the anti-autocracy movement of 1990 and the mass uprising of 2024 was to establish the democratic rights of the people and to build a self-reliant, safe and welfare-oriented state.
On the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day, people of all parties and opinions have been called upon to unite in building a democratic, just and humane Bangladesh. It was noted that strengthening all institutions of the state is essential to keep the march of democracy going.
The cadet and scout exhibition at the Army Stadium under the supervision of the armed forces, and the afternoon procession from Nayapaltan, are both at the centre of today's programme.
