Discussion Meeting and Prize Distribution in Barlekha on National Revolution and Solidarity Day
A discussion meeting, a drawing competition for students, prize distribution and a cultural programme were organised in Barlekha, Moulvibazar, on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day. The programmes were held on Saturday (7 November) at the Upazila Parishad auditorium at the initiative of the Barlekha Upazila Administration.
The discussion meeting was chaired by Barlekha Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahbub Alam Mahbub. Assistant Primary Education Officer Sourav Goswami conducted the programme.
Nasir Uddin Ahmed Mithu, Member of Parliament for Moulvibazar-1, spoke at the meeting as the chief guest. He handed prizes to the students at the event.
Upazila BNP general secretary Mujibur Rahman Khosru, acting principal of Barlekha Government Degree College Mohammad Abdus Sabur, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Ferdous Akter and Barlekha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Moniruzzaman Khan spoke as special guests.
Also speaking were Upazila BNP senior vice-president Nosib Ali, former Upazila BNP convener and Borni Union Parishad chairman Joynal Abedin, Upazila BNP organising secretary Professor Abdus Shohid Khan and Upazila BNP joint general secretary Jewel Ahmed.
Barlekha Press Club president Anwarul Islam, general secretary Abdur Rob, former Upazila Women Vice Chairman Rahena Begum Hasna and Upazila Chhatra Dal member secretary Ariful Islam, among others, also addressed the meeting.
A drawing competition was arranged for students to mark the day. After the competition, the chief guest and other guests handed prizes to the winning students.
A cultural programme was also arranged as part of the event. People from different walks of life attended the programme organised by the Upazila Administration.
