Bangladesh is set to host an international Twenty20 tournament for blind cricketers, the 'Cricket for the Blind - Asia Cup 2026', for the first time. The tournament will be held from 15 to 20 November at the Anvir Cricket Stadium in ABG Sports City, Bashundhara residential area, Dhaka.

Five countries will take part in the six-day tournament. Alongside hosts Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will compete for the title.

Each team will play every other team in a round-robin league. The final will be held on 20 November, after the league stage.

Two matches will be played on the opening day, 15 November. In the first match of the day, hosts Bangladesh will face Afghanistan. In the second match, defending champions India will take on Sri Lanka.

The Bangladesh Blind Cricket Council (BBCC) is in charge of organising the international tournament. The body is an approved part of World Blind Cricket Ltd (WBC).

The country's leading industrial group, Safwan Bashundhara Global (SBG), has joined as the title sponsor of the tournament. T Sports is the official media partner, and the channel will broadcast every match live.

The Bangladesh team is also preparing to make the first Asia Cup on home soil memorable. They are training hard with the aim of winning the title.

Meanwhile, arch-rivals India and Pakistan are also ready to enter the title race with strong squads.

The organisers aim to use the tournament not only for cricketing competition, but to spread a message of harmony, friendship, inclusion and equality in society through the universal power of sport.

The organisers are busy completing the final preparations ahead of the tournament. The six-day event will begin with the opening match on 15 November, and the final on 20 November will decide the new champion.
