Nationwide Art Exhibition for Students, 100 to Receive Full Scholarships

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has given permission to organise a drawing exhibition — an art exhibition — across the country, with the participation of secondary and higher secondary students. Talent Sports Limited will run the programme under the banner of 'Art Bangladesh'.
A permission letter in this regard was issued on Sunday (November 8) from the physical education department of the DSHE.
The letter says drawing plays an important role in students' intellectual education and cultural practice. Considering this, the drawing exhibition has been given importance as a co-curricular activity, and permission has been given to implement the programme in secondary and higher secondary educational institutions.
As part of the programme, art papers will be distributed to students class by class. Students can draw on any subject. They must draw the picture at their institution or at home and submit it to the designated teacher. Later, the Art Bangladesh team will collect the drawings from the respective institutions.
After the collected artworks are evaluated, successful students will be sent an SMS on their mobile phones. Only students who receive the SMS will be able to register on the website to take part in the exhibition. The artworks of registered students will be displayed, and they will be considered eligible to receive a crest and a certificate.
The permission letter also says prize-giving ceremonies will be held in every district of the country. The central art exhibition will be held at the galleries of the National Art Gallery building of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at Segunbagicha in Dhaka. The date and time of the exhibition will be communicated to participants by SMS.
There will also be an opportunity to take part in art exhibitions at the international level. One hundred artists from all districts of the country will be given full scholarships, and arrangements will be made to exhibit their artworks in five countries.
