MPO teachers will also get the same pay scale, announces education minister

MPO-enlisted teachers will also get the same pay scale, said Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan. He said this on Sunday (November 8) at the closing and certificate distribution ceremony of the orientation training course for officers of the BCS education cadre.
The education minister said, 'We have received the highest budget this year and we have all received a new pay scale this time. The area where our MPO-enlisted teachers were somewhat weak will be removed, and all of us together are going to get the same pay scale. We will all work together for the overall development of education.'
Noting that MPO-enlisted teachers are going to get the pay scale within a few days, he said the education system of the coming days is a global challenge. 'We have to face this challenge. We live in a global village. We have to compete internationally all the time.'
'You have seen that in the list of the world's top 2 percent scientists published by Stanford University and California, 347 from Bangladesh have secured places. We are thinking of a programme with the Prime Minister involving these top 2 percent scientists.'
'In that case, we want to work with those who have written — on the basis of their writings, their research, their research papers — in the open-source channels. At the same time, unfortunately, I am not naming a particular university, but they have also done, what do you call it, plagiarism to a large extent. We do not want that kind of thing.'
The education minister said, 'I want all of you to do research. I want all of you, after teaching for some time, to do research, that is, to do a PhD. This is extremely important. But not right now. After you finish your lectureship, when you become professors, you will enter this process step by step. Because you will all be teachers. Your future will be very bright.'
He said he was pleased that NAEM had arranged this law training. 'This is extremely important. But it must also be understood that AI must not be misused.'
The minister observed that more importance must be given to education and research to survive in global competition. He said competition on various subjects is taking place constantly in the international arena, and there is no alternative to research to retain capability in this competition.
He said this while joining online as chief guest at the closing and certificate distribution ceremony of the orientation training course for 45th BCS (general education) cadre officers, organised by the National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM) at the Rural Development Academy (RDA) in Bogura on Sunday.
Describing the education system of the coming days as a global challenge, he said the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education must be increased to face this challenge. But care must also be taken so that AI is not misused.
The minister said the government is working to make education joyful, and teachers must also teach in a joyful environment. The use of artificial intelligence and information technology must be increased further to modernise teachers' training activities and the curriculum.
The programme was chaired by Prof Dr Wasim Md Mezbahul Haque, director general of NAEM. Special guests present included Md Selimuzzaman Molla, member of parliament from Gopalganj-1, Abdul Khalek, senior secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, Dr Md Abdul Majid Pramanik, acting director general of RDA, and Prof Md Shahjahan, director of NAEM.
The education minister called on everyone to work together for the overall development of the education system and to build the Bangladesh of tomorrow.
