Islamic University admission tests to start 19 March, own 'D' unit exam on 29 March

A preliminary probable schedule has been set for the first-year undergraduate (honours) admission tests of the Islamic University (IU) for the 2026-27 academic year. The process may begin on 19 March with the cluster admission test and end on 29 March with the university's own 'D' unit examination.
The preliminary decision was taken unanimously at a meeting of the admission committee held on Monday (26 October) in the conference room of the vice-chancellor's building.
According to a notice, the meeting discussed in detail the admission test schedule for the 2026-27 year, centre management, preparations for holding the exams and various important matters relating to the admission process.
Chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor A K M Matinur Rahman, the meeting was attended by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Emtaz Hossain, Treasurer Professor Dr Idris Ali, acting registrar Professor Dr Atikur Rahman, and deans and officials of various faculties involved in admissions.
Meeting sources said the cluster universities' admission tests are due to be held between 19 and 27 March under a central decision. On that basis, 19, 20 and 27 March have been kept under consideration as the probable dates for the cluster tests at the Islamic University.
Separately, a preliminary decision has been taken to hold the admission test of the university's own 'D' unit, covering the religion-based and specialised faculties, on 29 March.
The university authorities said, however, that the probable dates may change depending on the final decision and schedule of the central authority controlling the cluster admission tests.
Once the central decision is received, the university will officially announce the final dates and the detailed schedule for the admission tests.
