Teletalk Begins Process to Acquire 700 MHz Spectrum, Event Held at Minister's Office
Teletalk Bangladesh Limited has begun the process of acquiring spectrum in the 700 MHz band. An event was organised on Monday in the office room of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam to mark the occasion.
Present at the event were Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam, Teletalk Bangladesh Limited managing director Nurul Mabud Chowdhury, and ZTE Corporation Bangladesh Limited managing director and chief executive Mao Junyong, chief marketing officer Jiang Xiao, account director Mohammad Zahed Ali and project director Zhu Xiubin.
In a press release, Teletalk said acquiring spectrum in the 700 MHz band is an important step for expanding and modernising Teletalk's network.
According to Teletalk's release, using spectrum in this band will create new possibilities to expand mobile network coverage in rural and remote areas of the country, improve the quality of indoor network connections in urban areas, and provide customers with uninterrupted and improved telecommunications services.
Being a comparatively low frequency, radio signals in the 700 MHz band can travel farther and help improve indoor network connections. As a result, the release said, this initiative can play a positive role in expanding reliable mobile connections and digital services for people in remote areas of the country.
As the country's only state-owned mobile operator, Teletalk Bangladesh Limited is working to deliver affordable, reliable and quality telecommunications services to people's doorsteps. The initiative to acquire 700 MHz band spectrum is expected to play an important role in the company's network development and future technological progress.
