The administration of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) has temporarily expelled Tanvirul Haque, a master's student of the Finance and Banking department, over the physical assault and serious injury of Juwel Al Imran, a student of the Pharmacy department.

The information was given in an office order signed on Wednesday (October 14) by the university's Registrar, Kazi Md Jalal Uddin.

According to the office order, in an undesirable and discipline-breaking incident that took place on October 2 at Shaheed Moshiur Rahman Hall and its adjacent area, the allegation against Tanvirul Haque of physically assaulting and seriously injuring Juwel Al Imran, a student of the 2020-21 session of the Pharmacy department, was proven in the investigation.

The order said the decision to temporarily expel the accused student was taken on the recommendation of the investigation committee formed over the incident and in accordance with the university's law, in the interest of maintaining peace and discipline on campus and a proper academic environment.

The order further said the expulsion would take effect immediately and remain in force until the final decision of the university's Regent Board.
