Secretariat Without Power for 1 Hour 20 Minutes at Midday, Official Work Disrupted Across Ministries
With the power supply cut off for 1 hour 20 minutes at the Bangladesh Secretariat in the capital, the official work of officers and employees came to a standstill. Regular work at various ministries was disrupted.
The power supply went off at the Secretariat from 12:40pm on Tuesday (27 October). Officers and employees of the ministries concerned could not work normally.
As of 2:03pm, when this report was being written, the power supply remained off at all the ministries in the Secretariat.
The sudden cut in power supply to all the ministries created a standstill in official activities. With no electricity for about an hour, the normal working environment was disrupted, and officers and employees faced difficulty carrying out their regular official work.
An official of the Religious Affairs Ministry, unwilling to be named, said the lack of electricity was making it difficult to do official work. Many tasks could not be done normally, and they were having to pass the time sitting idle.
Another official of the same ministry said electricity is extremely important for official work. The sudden power cut had slowed the pace of work, and in such a situation it could also become difficult to finish important tasks.
The reason for the power supply being off for about 1 hour 20 minutes from 12:40pm could not be confirmed immediately.
