The BD Expert Football Championship-2026, featuring Bangladeshi expatriates living in Malaysia, will be held on November 8. The tournament matches will be played on two football fields at the University of Malaya.

The opening match will start at 8am that day, the organisers said.

The tournament will be jointly organised by BD FC Malaysia, a football club of expatriate Bangladeshis, and Bangladesh Sports Management and Services.

BD FC general secretary Md Saifuddin presented the details of the tournament at a press conference in the hall room of the Esto Hotel in Chowkit, Kuala Lumpur, on Sunday evening.

Md Saifuddin said the champion team will receive 6,000 Malaysian ringgit, the runners-up 3,000 ringgit and the third-placed team 1,500 ringgit.

Alongside the prize money, the winning teams will receive trophies and medals. A special prize has also been arranged for the best player of the tournament.

The press conference was conducted by BD FC joint secretary Jubayer Rahman. Those present included BD FC president Rafez Rahman Russell, general secretary Md Saifuddin, senior vice-presidents Md Ali Azgar Milon and Md Sohag Ahmed, vice-president Shahajan Alam, organising secretary Apu Raihan and BD FC founder Iqbal Hossain.

Also present were sponsor company owners Mazarul Alam and Ibrahim, advisers Abdul Mobin Bhuiyan and Mostafa Imran Raju, and captains and players of various teams.

The organisers expect the tournament to increase brotherhood, harmony and mutual goodwill among Bangladeshi expatriates in Malaysia, while also encouraging sports practice and interest in football among expatriates.
