The body of former Bangladesh Air Force Lieutenant Tahsif Sauri, 28, has been recovered from an area adjoining a ghat on the Turag River in the capital, one day after he went missing.

After the incident, his classmate KSM Intisar Inzimam gave a post on Facebook. In it he expressed uncertainty about the cause of Tahsif's death and highlighted his contribution.

In the Facebook post given on Thursday (29 October), Intisar Inzimam wrote, 'We still do not know the cause of Tahsif's death. We do not know whether we will ever know.'

As there is no confirmed information about the cause of Tahsif's death, Intisar mentioned not making speculative comments on the matter. He wrote that various political sides have various narratives about Tahsif. But whether he was linked to any political party or whether he was good or bad, judging those matters is a matter between Tahsif and his Creator.

In the post, Intisar also claimed that Tahsif had played at least some role, through a video, in bringing out the truth about the role of internal forces behind the safe escape of fascist forces.

According to him, because of that video it has become difficult to create a fabricated narrative anew about Sheikh Hasina's departure from the country.

Intisar called on conscious citizens, friends and well-wishers who wish to recognise this contribution of Tahsif to join his janaza and pray for the forgiveness of his soul. He also requested those who cannot attend the janaza to arrange prayers in their own areas.

In the post he wrote that any work, small or big, done for the country and for truth for the satisfaction of Allah should be valued.

In his view, even if a management or system ignores someone, the people of the country should not forget those who stood for truth and justice. Such a stance could also be an inspiration for future officers, he mentioned.

In a comment on the post, Intisar claimed that if the video of Sheikh Hasina's departure had not gone viral, the public would not have known about her being given the opportunity to leave the country safely with the help of state forces. In his view, without the video various narratives could have been created around the incident, but there would have been no proof against them.
