SRB-11 has recovered arms, various types of ammunition, drugs and nearly Tk 11 lakh in cash during a raid on an abandoned house in Ghoradia village on the outskirts of Narsingdi town.

The raid was conducted on Thursday (29 October) from dawn until 10:30am. Assistant Superintendent of Police Al Masud Khan, acting in-charge of SRB-11's Narsingdi camp, confirmed the operation.

Al Masud Khan said an SRB-11 team raided the abandoned house in Ghoradia village acting on secret information. After a long search, the arms, ammunition, drugs and cash stockpiled there were recovered.

The recovered items include one foreign revolver, one locally made pipe gun, 12 rounds of revolver ammunition, 6 rounds of pistol ammunition, 2 rounds for a .303 rifle and 21 rounds for a small pistol.

Also recovered were 6 blank cartridges, 21 rounds of shotgun rubber cartridges, 20 rounds of lead cartridges, 9 locally made machetes and daggers and 75 bottles of Skaf syrup. The cash recovered amounts to Tk 10 lakh 71 thousand.

Law enforcement initially suspect a gang may have stockpiled the arms and drugs in the house for use in criminal activity. However, who is involved with the recovered items has not yet been confirmed.

An investigation is under way to identify those involved in the incident. Legal action over the recovered items is also in process, according to related sources.
