Labrum injury rules pacer Nahid Rana out for the rest of the year
Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana will not play again this year because of injury. He was injured again last September, and his treatment and rehabilitation are under way in Australia.
This is Nahid's second trip to Australia for the injury. After arriving there he consulted physician Peter D'Alessandro and is now doing rehab sessions there.
Fresh tests have shown that Nahid has suffered a labrum injury. Because of that, he will need time to become fully fit.
Nahid is scheduled to return home in the second week of November. Even after returning, however, it will take a long time before he can start bowling. He is expected to begin bowling on Australian soil.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) does not want to take any risk with Nahid. A trusted source says the pacer will not play again this year; if everything goes well, he could return to the field in January next year.
