Litton Hurt Again with Elbow Injury on His Return; Sadman Hopeful He Can Bat in the Second Innings

Staff Reporter

Litton Das could not play in Bangladesh's most recent tri-nation series because of injury. He returned to the side in the ongoing Mirpur Test against the West Indies. But in his comeback match, the wicketkeeper-batter has picked up a fresh injury to his elbow while batting.

After Litton's injury, Jaker Ali Anik, who was outside the playing squad, came onto the field as the substitute wicketkeeper.

Speaking about Litton's injury at a press conference, teammate Sadman Islam said, "Litton's injury update — Alhamdulillah, hopefully it is good."

Asked whether Litton would be able to bat in the second innings, Sadman replied, "Inshallah."

On the team's batting, Sadman said Bangladesh should have made the innings bigger in the morning; if he himself had done well, the team would not have been in this position.

On the team's spinners, Sadman said Bangladesh's spinners are very experienced. On Mehidy Hasan Miraz being bowled, he said that may have happened because the ball was new; the way Miraz and Taijul Islam are bowling is good.

On the match plan, he said the bigger the lead the better, and that reading the bowling conditions, the aim would be to take quick wickets and bowl the opposition out early.
