Nayeem Hasan continued after lunch where he had left off before the break. Together with the spin of Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Bangladesh bowled West Indies out quickly and took a 27-run lead.

On the third day, after lunch the visitors lost their last 3 wickets without adding any runs and were all out for 245, in reply to Bangladesh's first-innings 272.

Bangladesh had suffered a similar collapse on the second day, losing their last 7 wickets for 51 runs to be all out for 272.

Just before lunch on the third day, the ball hit Justin Greaves on the pad and the umpire raised his finger to a strong appeal from Nayeem Hasan. When the Caribbean batter departed, West Indies were still 59 runs behind Bangladesh and lunch was declared in that position.

In the final session of the second day, bowling from Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz had brought Bangladesh back into the contest with 3 wickets.

After the second day's play, Sadman Islam had said Bangladesh's aim on the third day was to bowl West Indies out as quickly as possible. After lunch the hosts achieved that aim and also secured a lead.
