Dismembered Body of Unidentified Woman Recovered Beside Highway in Mirzapur, Tangail

Police have recovered the dismembered and badly injured body of an unidentified woman beside the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail. The body was recovered at dawn on Friday (October 30) from the Kadim Dhallya area of the upazila. Police said the woman was approximately 35 years old.

According to police and local sources, residents spotted the woman's dismembered body lying in the Kadim Dhallya area beside the highway at dawn and informed the police. Officers from Gorai Highway Police Station rushed to the scene and recovered the body.

The woman's body bore injury and wound marks at several places. Police initially suspect she may have been run over by an unidentified vehicle at some point during the night.

Confirming the incident, Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Ismail Hossain of Gorai Highway Police Station said the woman is initially believed to have been mentally unstable.

SI Ismail Hossain added that efforts are under way to identify the deceased. The body has been sent to the morgue of Tangail General Hospital for an autopsy.

Police said an unnatural death case has been filed with Gorai Highway Police Station over the incident.
