Bangladesh could not recover after the break either. They conceded two more goals in the third quarter, and Malaysia added one more in the final quarter to extend the margin. Five of Malaysia's six goals came from penalty corners.
Bangladesh still have two matches left in the Champions Trophy. After five matches, the top four teams in the points table will play the semi-finals, while the bottom two teams will contest the fifth-place match.
Having lost all three of their matches, Bangladesh's chances of reaching the semi-finals are effectively over. They must now fight for fifth place.
