Actress Selma Blair apologizes in video weeks after arrest over alleged flight incident

American actress Selma Blair issued an apology in an Instagram video on Friday, weeks after her arrest following an alleged incident aboard a flight, saying she takes the matter very seriously.

The incident took place on an October 11 flight from Los Angeles to New York. Blair was arrested after the alleged altercation aboard the flight and was charged with assault.

She was charged with two counts of assault. She has pleaded not guilty to both counts and was released on bond.

In the video, Blair said she has never in her life intended to hurt or frighten anyone. She apologized to the people she said she had disappointed, hurt, frightened or alarmed.

"I take this very seriously," she said in the video. The statement was her first public comment on the incident in the weeks since her arrest.
