A political quarter is creating instability in the name of workers' movement, says Labour Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury on Mirpur protest

Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury has alleged that a political quarter is creating instability in the country in the name of a workers' movement. He made the allegation at a press conference in the capital on Saturday, October 31.
Asked about the garment workers' movement blocking roads in Mirpur, he told journalists that the media has the information on who among the protesters are workers and who are not. “You publish that,” he said.
The labour minister said leaders and activists of a political party are involved in the Mirpur movement. That political quarter is doing these things to destabilise the government, he alleged.
He said the government wants to solve the workers' movement through discussion. But there is no scope to take this as the government's weakness. The government will carry out its responsibility at every step.
The labour minister said instructions have been given to pay the workers' wages quickly. As per their demand, a wage board will be formed tomorrow. Even then, there should not be a movement, he said, questioning why this movement is happening.
He said those who are patriots will stay away from dirty acts.
The labour minister also said, clearly, that as demanded, the wage board will be formed tomorrow. Their representatives were also there. Representatives of the BGMEA and the BKMEA were also present.
