Feni Girls Cadet College's four-year record of a hundred percent GPA-5 results in the HSC examinations has been broken this year. All 61 candidates from the institution passed, but 45 of them obtained GPA-5. In the same district, not a single candidate from two colleges managed to pass.

Professor Dr Md Shafiqul Islam, controller of examinations of the Cumilla Education Board, gave the result details at the board auditorium on Saturday (31 October).

Analysis of the results shows that at Feni Girls Cadet College, 44 of the 60 science candidates obtained GPA-5. The institution's only humanities candidate also achieved GPA-5. The college thus kept its hundred percent pass rate, but its run of hundred percent GPA-5 results has ended.

The picture over the previous four years was entirely different. In 2025, all 48 candidates of the college obtained GPA-5. Before that, all 55 candidates in 2024, all 57 in 2023 and all 55 in 2022 achieved the top grade. From 2022 to 2025, the institution held a record of hundred percent GPA-5 results for four consecutive years.

On the other hand, no candidate from two educational institutions in Feni district passed this year. According to Cumilla Education Board sources, the two institutions are Begum Shamsur Nahar Girls School and College and Beacon Model College.

Three humanities candidates sat the exam from Begum Shamsur Nahar Girls School and College, and none of them passed. All seven candidates from Beacon Model College failed — three from science, three from humanities and one from business studies.

In this year's HSC examinations, students of 41 colleges in Feni district sat at 11 centres. Of the district's candidates, 3,872 were boys and 5,599 were girls. A total of 1,678 boys and 3,262 girls passed. Altogether 141 students in the district obtained GPA-5.

In the board's district-wise results, only Cumilla district is ahead of Feni in pass rate. Cumilla's pass rate is 53.52 percent. Besides, 50.15 percent passed in Brahmanbaria, 45.35 percent in Chandpur, 41.29 percent in Lakshmipur and 38.90 percent in Noakhali.
