Muminul Haque out of Sylhet Test under concussion rule, Amit Hasan called up

Staff Reporter

Experienced batter Muminul Haque will not be able to play the second Test against the West Indies in Sylhet. Hosts Bangladesh will be without him because of the concussion rules.

Bangladesh suffered a heavy defeat in the first Test against the West Indies. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has since announced the squad for the Sylhet Test, with a single change from the first Test squad.

In a press release, the BCB said right-handed batter Amit Hasan has come into the squad in place of Muminul Haque.

The release said: "Muminul cannot play the second Test because of the concussion rules. Under this rule, if a player is diagnosed with concussion, he must stay out of the game for at least seven days before returning to the field."

Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead Bangladesh in the second Test, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz as vice-captain.

The announced squad also includes Sadman Islam, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Towhid Hridoy, Litton Kumar Das, Jaker Ali Anik and Mushfiqur Rahim.

The bowling and all-round options in the squad are Naim Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, Taijul Islam, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury.

Bangladesh will face the West Indies in the Sylhet Test with this 15-member squad, in which Amit Hasan is the only new inclusion.
