HSC supplementary exam for students who failed one or two subjects likely from 2 December, results on 31 December

The Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers’ Committee has set a probable date for a supplementary examination for HSC candidates who failed in one or two subjects. Under the probable schedule, the examination will begin on 2 December and its results are likely to be published on 31 December.
The information was given in a notice published by the Dhaka Education Board on Saturday (31 October).
The notice said form fill-up for the supplementary examination will run from 3 to 8 December. The work of preparing question papers will run from 5 to 20 November.
However, the notice also mentioned that because existing regulations contain no provision for holding such an examination, a written instruction from the Ministry of Education is needed on the matter. In other words, although a probable date has been announced, the ministry’s written instruction is still required to hold this examination.
Meanwhile, applications for re-scrutiny of HSC results will begin on 1 November. Students will be able to apply through the website until 7 November.
Under the work plan, examiners for re-evaluation will be appointed and answer scripts collected from head examiners by 22 November. Briefing of examiners and the re-evaluation work will run from 13 to 19 November.
The date for publishing the re-scrutiny results has been set for 27 November. Students who failed in one or two subjects therefore now have two separate processes before them—the re-scrutiny application and the probable supplementary examination schedule—and the dates for both have been given in the Dhaka Education Board’s notice and work plan.
