746 killed in 4,280 incidents of political violence in 13 years: TIB

Bangladesh saw 4,280 incidents of political violence in the last 13 years and eight months, according to figures from Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB). At least 746 people were killed in those incidents.
According to TIB's statistics, 46,351 people were injured in political violence over the same period — a toll that stands alongside the deaths as a measure of the scale of the violence.
The organisation says the violence was driven not only by clashes between rival political parties, but also by internal feuds within the parties themselves, which it identifies as another major cause.
