The government is set to launch a year-long national campaign to raise public awareness about family planning, protection of mother and child health, and reproductive health. The programme will run from December 1 to November 30, 2027.

The campaign's main message has been set as 'No more than two children, one is better'.

On Sunday, November 1, sources at the Directorate General of Family Planning said awareness about family planning will be raised in all districts and upazilas through various publicity, courtyard meetings, discussion meetings and public engagement activities.

The campaign, organised at the initiative of the Directorate General of Family Planning, plans to involve various government and non-government institutions, local representatives, health workers and volunteers.

Through it, people will be encouraged to remove common misconceptions about family planning methods, increase the use of modern contraceptive methods, and reduce health risks for mothers and children.

The campaign will give special importance to adolescent reproductive health, prevention of child marriage, safe motherhood, proper birth spacing and post-delivery family planning. Reaching family planning services to remote and disadvantaged populations will also receive importance.
