Eight More Die of Dengue in a Day, 1,929 Admitted to Hospitals

Eight more people died of the Aedes mosquito-borne disease dengue in the country in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of people who have died of dengue this year has risen to 427.

The information was disclosed in a press release sent by the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday (November 1).

Meanwhile, 1,929 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of patients admitted to hospitals with dengue this year has risen to 136,929.

According to the release, among the patients admitted in the last 24 hours, 831 were in Dhaka division, 213 in Barishal, 257 in Chattogram, 259 in Khulna, 92 in Mymensingh, 185 in Rajshahi, 19 in Sylhet and 73 in Rangpur division.

By division, Dhaka accounts for the largest share of new admissions — 831 of the 1,929 patients, or about 43 percent, were admitted in this division.
