Tamzeed's home is in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha district. His roots are in Sreepatipur Panchpara village of Mahimaganj union in Gobindaganj.

His father is Dr Rezaul Karim, a professor in the Chemistry department of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). His mother is Shamsunnahar Begum. Tamzeed studied in Chattogram because of his father's workplace.

His subject-wise marks were also notable. He scored 175 in Bangla, 173 in English, 96 in Information and Communication Technology, 197 in Physics, 194 in Biology, 193 in Chemistry and 194 in Higher Mathematics — adding up to the total of 1,222.

Tamzeed credited the grace of Allah, his own perseverance, his parents' sacrifices and his teachers' contributions for the success. He said he tried to keep his focus while studying and read for six to seven hours a day.

He is now attending admission coaching to prepare for higher studies in engineering. After the results, he also expressed his goal of becoming an engineer in the future.

Earlier, Tamzeed had also obtained GPA-5 in the SSC examination. In that examination, his total marks were 1,247.

Beyond studies, Tamzeed is interested in creative pursuits. He spends time on recitation, drawing and graphics designing.

His mother Shamsunnahar Begum said studies were never imposed on her son. He studied out of his own interest and joy, and after examinations he was never put through oral questioning about his answers.

Expressing joy at his son's success, his father Professor Dr Rezaul Karim said Tamzeed had tried and achieved a good result accordingly. He sought everyone's prayers for his son's higher education.

The overall pass rate in the Chattogram board this year was 52.07 percent. Of the board's 99,878 examinees, 50,166 passed, and 2,929 obtained GPA-5. The board's highest total marks were Tamzeed's.
