Banglalink's new digital platform 'Mukto' to open to customers of every mobile operator

Staff Reporter

Mobile operator Banglalink is bringing telecom services together with a range of digital and lifestyle services on a single platform. To do so, the company is revamping its self-service app MyBL and launching it as a new digital platform named 'Mukto'.

The platform's biggest feature is that it is not limited to Banglalink's own customers. Subscribers of any mobile operator will be able to use the app, the company said.

According to Banglalink, 'Mukto' is Bangladesh's first telco-agnostic digital platform. Users will be able to log in with a social media account, any mobile number in the country, or a mobile number from any country in the world. As a result, users anywhere in the world will be able to access the platform's services through a single account.

The platform will offer entertainment content such as listening to music and stories, Islamic advice, and watching the latest news and sports, alongside telecom services and facilities for everyday needs. Banglalink says 'Mukto' has been built as an open and easy-to-use digital platform for everyone.

The app will include an artificial intelligence-based 'personalisation' feature, which will recommend products and services according to each user's interests and preferences. Users will also be able to manage services not only for their own mobile number but for the numbers of family members and loved ones as well.

Banglalink's Chief Marketing Officer Kazi Mahbub Hasan said the company is focusing on understanding customers' everyday needs beyond telecom services alone. He said people do not confine their digital lives to the services of a single mobile operator; they want technology that blends naturally into daily life and makes it easier, more convenient and tailored to personal preference.

The launch of 'Mukto' also marks a change in Banglalink's digital services strategy. Previously, the company mainly built digital services for its own subscribers. It now aims to offer those services on a broader scale to customers of all mobile operators.

The company said its goal, on its journey as a customer-centric and digital technology-driven organisation, is to make digital services more accessible and relevant in everyday life through the 'Mukto' app.
