Crowds and Tight Security at Mannat for Shah Rukh Khan's 61st Birthday as First Song from 'King' Is Released
Countless fans gathered outside Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's Mumbai home, Mannat, on Monday (2 November) for his birthday, hoping for a glimpse of the actor.
Amid the fans' enthusiasm, Mumbai Police strengthened security outside Mannat. Fans began gathering outside the house from the early hours of Monday, police personnel were deployed in front of the home to keep the situation under control, and vehicles arriving outside Mannat were seen being checked.
Shah Rukh's birthday is a special occasion for fans every year, and admirers travel to Mumbai from far away for a glimpse of him on the day. Shah Rukh himself often greets fans by standing on the balcony or at a designated spot of the house.
A fan waiting outside Mannat told the media that a special atmosphere is created across the country on Shah Rukh's birthday, but the mood in Mumbai is different. Praising his long journey from theatre to television and then cinema, the fan said it was not only his acting but also his behaviour and personality that made him special to everyone.
On his 61st birthday, Shah Rukh gave fans a special gift: the first song from his upcoming film 'King' was released. The song, titled 'Tu Mil Jaaye', features Deepika Padukone alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
The song was sung by Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi. The English rap was written by Ed Sheeran, the music was composed by Sachin-Jigar, and the lyrics were written by Kumar.
The song opens with Shah Rukh's line 'Main qatil nahi, aashiq hoon…' as viewers enter the world of 'King'. Shah Rukh and Deepika are then seen in romantic moments at a cafe and on a beach, before the story turns when a link emerges between Shah Rukh's character and illegal smuggling, hinting at the film's action and crime-world setting.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, 'King' is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 24 December 2026.
