UP Member in Barishal's Agailjhara Accused of Taking 60kg of Rice from a Woman's VWB Card with Her Own Signature

A woman Union Parishad member in Agailjhara, Barishal, has been accused of taking rice from another woman's VWB card by signing for it herself. The accused member holds a reserved women's seat on the Union Parishad.

According to the allegation, she signed for and took 60 kilograms of rice allocated against that woman's card.

The woman who held the card — described as helpless — was being deprived by the incident, as rice meant for her was going into someone else's hands.

The accused reserved-seat UP member, however, has claimed that the incident was a mistake.
