Gas Pressure to Stay Low from 4 to 7 November During Maheshkhali Terminal Maintenance

Staff Reporter

Gas supply in the country will remain low from 4 to 7 November because of emergency maintenance work at the Summit LNG terminal at Maheshkhali in Cox's Bazar. Low gas pressure may be felt by customers across the country during this period.

Petrobangla, the Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation, announced this in a press release on Monday (2 November).

According to the release, the terminal's regasification operations will remain closed from 8am on 4 November until 4pm on 7 November.

As a result, daily gas supply to the national gas grid will fall from 920 million cubic feet to 600 million cubic feet — a reduction of 320 million cubic feet per day.

The release said gas pressure may remain low for customers across the country while the maintenance work continues. Residential, industrial and commercial customers may face temporary inconvenience.

The release noted that similar maintenance work was also carried out at the Summit LNG terminal in December 2025.

Petrobangla has sincerely apologised to customers for the temporary inconvenience.
