30th US Trade Show starts in Dhaka on November 5 as US businesses seek investment prospects

Representatives of various US business organisations are coming to Dhaka to look for investment prospects in Bangladesh and new areas of business cooperation. They will take part in the 30th US Trade Show, starting in the capital on November 5.
During the visit they will exchange views with local businesspeople, examine investment opportunities and discuss prospects for expanding commercial relations.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) is organising the exhibition to mark three decades of commercial partnership between Bangladesh and the United States. With support from the US Embassy in Dhaka, the event will run from November 5 to 7 at the InterContinental Dhaka hotel.
A total of 43 organisations will take part in this year's exhibition. There will be 63 booths for them. The participants include 36 organisations from various industrial and business sectors and 7 startups.
AmCham gave this information at a press conference at the InterContinental hotel on Monday. The organisation's president Syed Mohammad Kamal, adviser Paul Frost, secretary Chowdhury Kaiser Mohammad Riyad and member Al Amin M Russell, along with committee leaders, were present.
Organisers said sector-based separate zones are being kept for the first time in this trade show. Sectors such as power and energy, information and communication technology (ICT), digital economy, banking and financial services, consumer goods, manufacturing, logistics, education, development and agriculture-based business will be included.
There will be a special startup zone to present new entrepreneurs' innovative ideas.
Alongside the exhibition, six thematic seminars will be held. Policymakers, businesspeople and experts will discuss power and energy, healthcare and medical technology, ICT and digital economy, women's leadership, investment opportunities in the United States and the changing Bangladesh-US trade relationship.
A carnival zone and a heritage corner are being added this time. In the carnival zone visitors will be able to buy products directly from participating organisations. The heritage corner will present the US Trade Show's 30-year journey and its contribution to developing Bangladesh-US commercial relations.
AmCham expects 10,000 to 15,000 visitors at the exhibition. It will be open to visitors every day from 10 am to 8 pm. For the first time, a three-day online visitor pass has been introduced.
Organisers hope the exhibition will increase business contact between the two countries. Investment, technology exchange and new commercial cooperation opportunities will also be created.
