Prime Minister Tarique Rahman Joins Inauguration of Bangladesh Solar Expo-2026 as Chief Guest
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has joined the inaugural ceremony of Bangladesh Solar Expo-2026 as the chief guest. The event began on Tuesday morning (3 November) at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the capital.
The prime minister's Deputy Press Secretary Zahidul Islam Roni confirmed the prime minister's attendance at the event.
Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud is presiding over the inaugural ceremony.
The theme of this year's solar expo is 'Use every inch of rooftop, earn more from solar power,' highlighting the opportunity to generate electricity from rooftop solar panels and earn income from it.
Present on the stage were State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, Finance Secretary Dr Md Khayeruzzaman Mazumder, and the ministry's secretary Mirana Mahrukh.
Ministers, state ministers, members of parliament, secretaries and senior officials from various ministries also attended the inaugural ceremony.
The Power Division of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and the Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) have jointly organised the solar expo for the first time.
