Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor has reported an extortion demand of Rs 5 crore. He said the demand was made over the phone by a caller identifying himself as Harry Boxer, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Kapoor immediately informed the Mumbai Police, after which the investigation was handed to the Anti-Extortion Cell and the Crime Branch.

According to an NDTV report, the Mumbai Crime Branch's initial investigation has raised doubts about the caller's identity, and police suspect the threat may be fake.

A police source told NDTV that the caller introduced himself as 'Harry Boxer', a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and demanded money from the actor.

As part of the investigation, the Crime Branch's technical unit examined the audio recording of the threat call and compared the voice with the official audio samples of Harry Boxer held by police. Police said no match was found between the two voices.

A few days earlier, shots were fired targeting actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai, an attack for which people linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility. Kapoor received the threat call a few days after that incident, and the report said Bollywood stars are spending their days in considerable fear.
