Two cocktails explode in front of BTV building in Rampura; blasts in Mirpur and Pallabi injure two

Staff Reporter

Miscreants set off two cocktail explosions in front of the Bangladesh Television (BTV) building in Dhaka's Rampura. The incident took place at around 4:45pm on Tuesday (November 3). There were no casualties in the sudden explosions.

Rampura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahangir Hossain said it is initially believed that unknown miscreants arrived on a motorcycle, hurled the cocktails in front of the BTV building and fled quickly.

Police are working to identify those involved and bring them under the law. To that end, CCTV footage from the spot and the surrounding area is being collected and analysed.

Cocktail explosions were also reported from two other areas of the capital on the same day. In Mirpur, one person was injured in the explosion of two cocktails in front of a courier service.

A pair of cocktails also exploded in Pallabi, where one person was injured as well.

Earlier, at around 9:30pm on Monday, a cocktail explosion had also taken place on the water pump at the Agargaon metro rail station in the capital.
