Medical admission test will not be held on December 4, new date not yet finalised
The MBBS and BDS admission test for medical and dental colleges for the 2026-27 academic year, scheduled for December 4, will not be held on that date. The Directorate General of Medical Education has decided to postpone the test for some more time.
Professor Dr Rubina Yasmin, additional director general (medical education) of the directorate, confirmed the information on Wednesday (November 4). She said it would not be possible to hold the admission test on the previously fixed date.
However, Professor Dr Rubina Yasmin said the new date for the test has not yet been finalised.
A source at the directorate said the new date for the medical admission test depends on the government's decision on giving students who sat the HSC and equivalent supplementary examinations an opportunity to enrol in higher education.
On this matter, Professor Dr Rubina Yasmin said action would be taken in line with the government's decision on whether students who pass the supplementary examination will receive the same opportunity as those who have already passed.
She also said the medical admission policy has not yet been finalised either. Once the policy is finalised, it will be possible to organise the admission test accordingly.
