Nahid Demands Home Minister's Resignation, Says in Dinajpur Government Has Completely Failed on Law and Order

The current government has completely failed to control the country's law and order situation, opposition chief whip and National Citizen Party (NCP) president Nahid Islam has said. He also demanded the resignation of Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, taking responsibility for that failure.
He made the remarks on Thursday (5 November) at 11am at a regional coordination meeting at the Dinajpur District Shilpakala Academy auditorium, organised by the district National Citizen Party to review organisational progress and draw up plans centred on the local government elections.
Nahid Islam said the BNP has made the country unstable by pursuing a policy of repression. The movement should be resolved quickly in coordination with the workers, he said.
He said ordinary people in every sector of the country are suffering from insecurity. The BNP has created an unstable situation by carrying out repression across the country. The party has also failed to adopt an independent foreign policy, he commented.
On the energy sector, he said the energy minister's resignation had been demanded. The minister had shown extreme failure in the energy sector, and proposals had been given to the government in writing from the 11-party alliance on how the energy sector could be improved, he said.
Nahid Islam said the BNP government had failed to stop the activities of the Awami League, and the BNP had also failed over the past 16 years. The BNP may be a big party, but it is a compromising party; Begum Khaleda Zia was uncompromising, but most of its leaders are compromising. The BNP will not be able to stop the Awami League, and ordinary people must again stay alert on the streets for that, he said, calling the government a government of excuses with an excuse for every failure.
Present at the meeting were NCP senior joint member secretary Sarjis Alam, MPs Atiq Mujahid, Sani Abdul Haq, Sadia Farzana Dina, Kamrul Islam Darpon, Mosharraf Hossain, Abu Saeed Leon and others.
