Rashed Khan, political assistant to the prime minister, has claimed to have obtained audio and video of an alleged incident involving women and Amir Hamza, the Jamaat-e-Islami member of parliament for Kushtia-3. He made the claim in a post on his verified Facebook account on Thursday (5 November), saying he had verified the material and confirmed its authenticity.

In the post, Rashed Khan published what he presented as part of a conversation by Amir Hamza. In it, a voice is heard saying the matter had been blown up and become tangled. The voice also says that, despite repeated apologies and pleas for forgiveness, he had been told the matter was under control, nothing would happen, and no one would be harmed by him.

In another part of the conversation, the voice says he holds no anger, resentment or grievance against them. Whether it happened through the devil's deception or the trap of the self, the voice says, he himself was repentant after it happened.

At another point, the voice is heard saying that when a person repents after wrongdoing, people should at least forgive — and that, if they are Islamic-minded, they should forgive. It also says that, given the chance, he would go to their home with Saiful Sir and beg forgiveness, even holding the hands and feet of the aunt and uncle there.

Rashed Khan said in his post that he had added a link to the audio in the comments. He also said it remained to be seen what action Jamaat-e-Islami would take over the incident.

However, the authenticity of the audio and video published by Rashed Khan could not be independently verified. No immediate comment was available from Amir Hamza or Jamaat-e-Islami on the matter.
