Bangladesh stumble to 36 for 2 at tea in reply to West Indies' 356

Bangladesh made a poor start in reply to the West Indies' first-innings total of 356, as the host batters came under pressure from Shamar Joseph and Jayden Seales with the new ball.
At tea on the second day of the Test, Bangladesh were 36 for 2 after 17 overs, still trailing the West Indies' first-innings score by 320 runs. Nazmul Hossain Shanto's side has a huge task ahead.
An unexpected opening pair was seen because of an injury to Sadman Islam. Spin-bowling all-rounder Nayeem Hasan opened a Bangladesh innings for the first time.
Nayeem, however, could not last long with the bat. He was caught by Brandon King at slip off Seales, departing for just 5 runs.
After the first wicket fell, captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto came in himself at number three.
But the other opener, Tanzid Hasan, also failed to survive. Stepping out of his crease to a Justin Greaves delivery outside off stump, he was caught at point, where debutant Kevyn Wickham leapt to take a fine two-handed catch. Tanzid returned with 16 runs.
Shanto and Towhid Hridoy are trying to steady Bangladesh after the early double blow. At the tea break, Shanto was unbeaten on 11 and Hridoy on 4.
Losing two wickets early against Joseph and Seales with the new ball has put the hosts under the pressure of a large deficit. How Bangladesh respond in the rest of the second day now depends on the Shanto-Hridoy pair at the crease.
