Open Rift Between Two BNP Leaders in Pirojpur Over TR Project Allocation

A dispute between two BNP leaders of the upazila and the union has come into the open in Nesarabad of Pirojpur over the allocation of a project under the government Test Relief (TR) programme. A project allocated in one person's name has allegedly been given to another person.
Daihari Union BNP member secretary Md Lovlu Hawlader expressed his anger over the matter in a video published on his own Facebook account on Friday night.
In the video, Lovlu Hawlader said 13 TR and Kabikha projects were allocated in Daihari union in the 2025-26 fiscal year. At first, however, he was given no project. Later, on a special recommendation, a TR project was allocated in his name.
Lovlu alleged that the Upazila Project Implementation Officer's (PIO) office asked him to buy stamps and complete the agreement, and he did the necessary work. But when he later went to the PIO office, he found former senior joint convener of Upazila BNP Md Nasir Uddin Talukder there. At one point, Nasir took his project and gave it to another person in the union.
In the video, Lovlu said he sold tea in Dhaka for 17 years while doing politics in his area. His family members also had to go through harassment. Lovlu, now in financial crisis, had hoped to pay the party office rent and some of his own expenses with the money earned from the project work.
Lovlu alleged that Nasir Talukder neglected him and gave the project allocated in his name to another person. He also alleged that Nasir was involved in arbitration trading in favour of the Awami League. He sought the intervention of central BNP leaders in the matter.
Nasir Uddin Talukder, however, has denied all these allegations. He said he has no power to give or take a TR project. The matter is directly supervised by the UNO and the project implementation officer.
Nasir claimed that Lovlu had asked him for money. When he refused to give money, Lovlu launched a false campaign against him.
Former member secretary of Nesarabad Upazila BNP Md Abdullah Al Beruni Saikat said he has heard about the matter. Perhaps the state minister is also aware of it. He will look into the matter. In his words, Lovlu Hawlader is a dedicated leader of the party and somewhat helpless.
Nesarabad Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Ashik Ahmed said he does not know about the matter. He will inquire into it.
With the allegation that a project allocated in one person's name was given to another, its denial, and counter-allegations, the matter now awaits the upazila nirbahi officer's inquiry.
