The strumming of guitars, the beat of drums and thousands of voices singing together filled Manik Mia Avenue in the capital. The occasion was National Revolution and Solidarity Day, and the event was called the ‘Concert for Solidarity’.

The concert was held on Saturday (7 November) at Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka, organised by the Ministry of Culture. It began at 3pm and ran until 11pm, creating a festive atmosphere charged with youthful enthusiasm.

Seven popular bands from the country performed at the concert. Music lovers came from different parts of the city, not only to hear their favourite bands live but also to join an event spreading messages of solidarity and harmony through music.

Some held mobile phones in their hands, some swayed to the rhythm, and others sang along with their favourite bands. The musical frenzy brought together hearts of people of different ages.

The music began at 3:30pm with a performance by the heavy metal band ‘Mechanics’. In a 40-minute set, the band performed five songs, and the audience danced along to their music.

Next on stage came the popular band ‘Shironamhin’, which kept the audience enthralled with six of its well-known songs. The excitement grew with every song.

After that, ‘Artcell’ and ‘Feedback’ performed on stage, and the audience showed added enthusiasm during their sets as well.

As the remaining attractions of the event, ‘Warfaze’ and ‘Miles’ took the stage. As time passed, the concert ground became ever more vibrant with the bands’ popular songs.

Finally, after 10pm, Nagarbaul James took the stage. The excitement around him was striking to see. Fans erupted with joy at seeing their favourite artist up close. James performed his popular songs, and the music lovers present sang along with him.

And so, with favourite bands, youthful enthusiasm and voices raised together, the ‘Concert for Solidarity’ ended at 11pm. The day-long musical event was not just an occasion for entertainment; through the melody of songs it spread the message of solidarity and harmony.
