34 Senior BCS Officers Leave for Pakistan for Two-Week Leadership Training

Thirty-four senior officers of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) have left for Pakistan to take part in a two-week executive leadership training programme. On Sunday (November 8), they departed Dhaka to attend the training at the National School of Public Policy (NSPP) in Lahore, Pakistan.
Among them are officers of the rank of additional secretary and joint secretary.
Pakistan's High Commissioner to Dhaka, Imran Haider, was present at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to see them off.
Earlier, the High Commissioner hosted a dinner in honour of the officers taking part in the training.
Speaking at the event, he said the training programme is an important initiative to strengthen bilateral relations by increasing institutional engagement, professional cooperation and people-to-people contact.
He also spoke of the vision and commitment of the leadership of Pakistan and Bangladesh to expand close relations and cooperation in public administration.
He mentioned the long-standing historical, cultural and family bonds between the two countries.
He also said there is great potential to increase cooperation in several areas, including education, science and technology, trade, culture, media, climate change and digital governance.
Referring to the 'Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor' announced during the Dhaka visit of Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, in August 2025, the High Commissioner said 170 Bangladeshi students enrolled in leading Pakistani universities in 2026.
Another 20 students are expected to join them soon.
He further said that earlier this year, 12 senior Bangladeshi government officials successfully completed the first batch of the executive leadership training programme. The current delegation is the second batch of this initiative, reflecting the growing institutional cooperation between the two countries.
