Dhaka Bar dissolves tout eviction committee, forms probe body

The Dhaka Bar Association has dissolved its tout eviction committee.
The information was given today, Sunday, in an urgent notice signed by the association's general secretary, Mohammad Abul Kalam Khan.
The notice said that although no victim had filed a complaint, complaints had recently been raised on social media, that is Facebook, about the activities of some members of the Dhaka Bar Association's tout eviction committee. For the sake of a fair investigation, the activities of the association's tout eviction committee for 2026-2027 have therefore been declared dissolved.
A three-member investigation committee has been formed on the complaints, headed by the association's president, Md Anwar Zahid Bhuiyan, with senior joint general secretary Md Iltutmish Saudagar (Annie) and executive committee member Md Adnan Rahman. The committee has been asked to submit its investigation report within five working days.
Asked about the dissolution, general secretary Mohammad Abul Kalam Khan said the tout eviction committee was dissolved and an investigation committee formed because complaints had been raised on social media against some members of the committee.
He said the committee will submit its report within the next five working days. If the report finds anyone accused, that person will be excluded and the committee will be formed again.
The general secretary said the decision to reconstitute the committee, excluding anyone found accused, will be taken on the basis of the investigation report.
